Carbon steel is a ferro carbon alloy with a carbon content of 0.0218%~2.11%. Also called carbon steel. Generally, it also contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus. Generally, the higher the carbon content in carbon steel, the greater the hardness and strength, but the lower the plasticity. Ordinary carbon steel is the abbreviation of ordinary carbon structural steel. The carbon content is less than 0.38%, and less than 0.25% is most commonly used. It belongs to low carbon steel, and each metal grade represents the lowest yield point of the steel when the thickness is less than 16mm. Compared with high-quality carbon steel, the limits on carbon content, property range and phosphorus, sulfur and other residual elements are wider.
